Kevin Carson, President, Northern California. Kevin S. Carson has over 25 years of home building experience throughout Northern and Central California. In March of 1999, Mr. Carson joined John Laing Homes as the division’s Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development. He became the Senior Vice President in June of 2001 and oversaw the construction, sales, and customer service departments as well as served as the division's product champion helping introduce cluster court yards, town houses, paired houses and condominiums to the region. In September of 2003, he was promoted to President of the Sacramento division, where he oversaw the overall operations of the division. He led the division to over 700 closings and $286 million in revenue. As the region expanded he later managed operations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and the Central Valley for John Laing as President of Northern California. Prior to joining John Laing Homes, Mr. Carson served as Division President of Crosswind Communities in Stockton, California. From 1994 to 1998, Carson was President of Ryland Homes’ Sacramento division. From 1987 to 1994, Carson served as Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development for Dunmore Homes. At Dunmore, he was involved with operations throughout Central and Northern California as well as Reno and Las Vegas. He began his career with the Sacramento County Planning Department in 1984. Mr. Carson earned his graduate degree at Miami University of Oxford Ohio in Urban Planning and his undergraduate degree from California State University, Chico. He has served on the board of directors for Stanford Home for Children, the board of trustees for the Building Industry Association’s Political Action Committee and was the President of the Sacramento chapter of the Building Industry Association in 1995. He is presently is Chairperson for HomeAid in Sacramento and serves on the Habitat for Humanity board of directors. He has also chaired numerous local and state committees on land development issues facing the building industry.
