The New Home Company Marks 5th Anniversary
Founded in 2009 by four industry veterans, NEW HOME is now a publicly traded company, one of California’s most active homebuilders and well-positioned for growth.

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (September 2, 2014) – In 2009, four real estate development industry veterans—Larry Webb, Wayne Stelmar, Joseph Davis and Tom Redwitz—joined together with a vision to start a new homebuilding company. The goal was simple and ambitious: To create a company recognized as the country’s best homebuilder. Under that premise, The New Home Company (“NEW HOME”) was born in Aliso Viejo, Calif. and in August, marked its 5th anniversary in business.

Now, five years later, NEW HOME is one of California’s most active homebuilders with divisions in Southern and Northern California. After beginning with just a handful of employees, the company is now more than 200 strong and growing. Just six months ago, it successfully completed its initial public offering, with shares of common stock now trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “NWHM.”

“When we launched this company five years ago, it’s safe to say that our timing was exceptional,” said Webb. “The economy was depressed and the homebuilding environment was challenging. But based on our team’s collective experience, we were confident that conditions would improve and we were fortunate to partner with a group of investors that believed in our vision and passion for homebuilding. Today we are growing and on a path to increased profitability. But most importantly, we have the very best team in the business, we are delivering award-winning homes and we are making the markets where we build better places to live.”

Headquartered in Aliso Viejo, NEW HOME also has offices in Roseville near Sacramento and in Walnut Creek in the San Francisco Bay Area. This month, NEW HOME was recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” by the Orange County Business Journal.

NEW HOME has dozens of communities that are active or in planning and development stages in California’s most desirable areas for employment, schools and overall lifestyle. The company offers a wide range of homes across all price points that result from extensive market research to ensure it delivers the most innovative and thoughtfully designed homes in each place it builds.
