New Home Co. strikes again in Fremont, Santa Clara

The New Home Company continues to fire on all cylinders in the Bay Area, picking up three new development sites with plans to start selling homes next year.

In Fremont, New Home will start selling a project called The Landing next spring, the publicly traded homebuilder said in a news release. The 33-townhome project is located off Mission Boulevard and will feature three- to four-bedroom units ranging from 1,612 to 1,905 square feet. New Home also picked up a 25-home site a half-mile away from the Landing, but did not release further details.

In southeast Santa Clara, a project called Emerson will also offer 33 townhomes, with plans ranging up to 1,900 square feet. Sales there should start in fall of 2016.

New Home, a publicly traded homebuilder, has been picking up infill sites throughout Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. The new projects come as New Home reaches the two-thirds-sold mark at its largest project here, Orchard Park. The 239-unit development, which includes flats and townhomes, is priced from the low $800,000s.

“We continue to selectively target prime Bay Area locations where we will be rewarded for superior architecture and thoughtful planning,” said Brian Olin, Bay Area president for New Home. “These communities in Fremont and Santa Clara will allow us to accomplish this, while providing much-needed homes in the tech capital of the world.”

In addition to Orchard Park, New Home has two other projects that are selling or about to: Woodbury, a 56-flat project in downtown Lafayette, began selling in May and is priced from the low $900,000s. New Home's Tidelands project in San Mateo will start selling later this summer. It is 76 condos overlooking the Bay and is expected to be priced from the low $800,000s.
